Your Destiny Foundation(YDF) was founded in March 2016 by Chakima Rankins-Wiggs a parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy. After overcoming her own challenges as a mother to a daughter diagnosed with CP, Chakima decided it was time to share her story and the resources she uncovered with families in similar circumstances that could benefit from additional support.

Recreational & Educational Events
One at a Time
These events not only offer a chance for children to engage in fun and stimulating activities but also provide educational resources and networking opportunities for families. Activities include adaptive sports, arts and crafts, music, and story time. Workshops for parents and caregivers covering a range of topics and creating an inclusive and supportive environment, these events help build a sense of belonging and empowerment among participants, encouraging them to thrive despite the challenges they face.
UNDERSTANDING CEREBRAL PALSY
Cerebral Palsy is a number of disorders of the developing brain movement, posture, and muscle coordination caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain, usually occurring during fetal development; before, during, or shortly after birth; during infancy, or during early childhood. Not a disease, not progressive, nor communicable.
